Recently Launched: Triangle East IDS

ids_site.jpg

On May 21st, 2007 Llamawerx launched a redesigned website for the Triangle East Chapter of the Interior Design Society. The new layout features a crisp black look punctuated with colorful elements. A key goal was to simplify the navigation and “lead” the visitor where they want to go. “I’m a big fan of navigation that speaks directly to the visitor,” said Doug Griswold. “I’m looking for a designer… Tell me more… I want to join – phrases like those actively lead the visitor along.”

Llamawerx Wins First M2M Agreement

RALEIGH, NC – Llamawerx announces the first contract for their recently formed machine-to-machine (M2M) group. Llamawerx will provide software development and integration services for a next-generation asset management application. “Initially, we’ll be integrating Wavecom’s wireless module with a GPS receiver,” says Doug Griswold, Llamawerx’s CEO. “Then, we’ll see where it goes from there. Our client’s roadmap contains several projects that we plan to be involved with.”

Over the past year, North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park gained worldwide attention in the M2M marketplace. First, Sony Ericsson sold their M2M business unit to Wavecom along with Wavecom’s decision to locate their American operations in RTP. And in September, Telit opened an office in Morrisville. “RTP has been a leader in wireless communications for years,” said Griswold. “Ericsson, Nortel, Qualcomm, they’re major players traditionally focused on human-to-human communications. Now we’re seeing a new set of companies focusing on the new growth segment – machine to machine communications.”

“By building relationships with hardware leaders, we’re looking to extend our software services to their clients,” said Griswold. “The market has some great ideas for this new generation of modules. Everyone’s learning to listen to their customers and remain focused on what they do best. We bring personal service, flexibility and experience to the table. Plus, we’re always on the lookout for opportunities our clients can exploit.”

Llamawerx Launches Machine-to-Machine Group

RALEIGH, NC January 10, 2007 – Llamawerx proudly announces the formation of a machine-to-machine (M2M) group to complement their service portfolio. “We’re very excited to be entering the wireless M2M space,” says Doug Griswold, Llamawerx’s CEO. “The market seems to have reached a tipping point. With hardware prices falling and complexity rising, software becomes the critical component. We’re confident we can bring the same great level of service we’re known for to the embedded wireless space.”

In 2006, North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park gained worldwide attention in the M2M industry. In June, Sony Ericsson sold their M2M business unit to Wavecom which decided to locate their American operations in RTP. And in September, Telit opened their US office in nearby Morrisville. “RTP has been a leader in wireless communications for years,” said Griswold. “Ericsson, Nortel, Qualcomm, they’re major players traditionally focused on human-to-human communications. Now we’re seeing a new set of companies focusing on the fastest growing segment of the wireless market – machine to machine communications.”

Industry watcher Juniper Research predicts the market for wireless-enabled machine to machine applications is entering a new growth phase with revenues set to grow from US$20 billion in 2006 to over US$44 billion by 2009 and US$74 billion by 2011; wireless operator NTT DoCoMo estimates that in 2010 only one in three of its customers will be a human being.

“By building relationships with hardware leaders, we’re looking to extend our software services to their clients,” said Griswold. “They’ve learned to listen to their customers and remain focused on what they do best. We can complement their hardware leadership with our software experience, personal service and flexibility – we’re always on the lookout for opportunities benefiting our clients.”

Llamawerx Announces 1st International Engagement

Abloco Wireless Solutions, located in the Netherlands, has selected Llamawerx to redesign their website and focus their message on the newly released iSpecto product. iSpecto, an innovative wireless camera, combines best-of-breed components including video, audio, wireless, motion detection, solar and remote management into a unique video solution.

“Llamawerx is incredibly happy to be working with Abloco. Not only are we excited about working with our first international client, but we’re really excited about iSpecto. By combining state-of-the-art components into a great package, I think they have an outstanding platform for creating video surveillance solutions,” said Llamawerx co-founder Doug Griswold.

Marcel Staaks of Abloco Wireless Solutions states, “Frankly, our current website doesn’t reflect our company’s core competency. We compete throughout Europe and a Dutch language site doesn’t reach as many clients as we would like. By partnering with Llamawerx, we will create a multi-lingual site capable of educating the community about iSpecto and our unique value proposition.”

The website is only the first step in the Abloco/Llamawerx relationship. According to Griswold, “Abloco’s roadmap calls for additional services in the iSpecto suite. In the future, we expect to work with Abloco to define and develop a web-based “dashboard” supporting the delivery of their services.” Once the product gains traction in Europe, Abloco plans to introduce it into the US market.

Llamawerx And RRLX Complete Initial Integration

RALEIGH, NC -- Llamawerx is proud to announce the completion of a website redesign and information integration project for Rail Logistics (RRLX). Rail Logistics is a third-party logistics operation specializing in turn-key rail services throughout North America.

According to Doug Griswold, CEO of Llamawerx, “Rail Logistics’ goal is to leverage their website in order to streamline their business processes. So the first thing we had to do was put the site on a strong technical footing,” continued Griswold. “We redeveloped the existing site with modern tools, added some foundation work and hosted it on a dedicated server and relational database.”

Once the site was transitioned to the new server, two components were chosen for the initial integration – customer reports and shipping instructions.

First, a set of daily reports was made available to RRLX customers via the website. Previously emailed to individual inboxes, the reports are now centrally located, organized and available via the web. “We’re all inundated with email and this is one small step to improve the distribution and organization of these daily reports,” said Griswold.

Next, integration with a web based rail shipping instruction service provides RRLX customers with a streamlined electronic method for creating their own shipping instructions. “By tightly integrating the branded application into the RRLX website, we’ve eliminated the redundant steps involved with creating the shipping instructions and eliminated the need for users to interact with different railroad systems. We’ve also captured the EDI messages into a database for Rail Logistics’ analysis,” added Griswold.

“Working with clients, we take into consideration their needs, their goals, and their budget,” added Griswold. “Large or small, we find unique solutions to tie it all together.”

Llamawerx and NJSOP Unveil Web Redesign

njsop.jpg
RALEIGH, NC -- Llamawerx is proud to announce a website redesign for the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians (NJSOP). With over 700 members, NJSOP is dedicated to advancing the profession of optometry and serving optometrists in meeting the eye care needs of the public.

The redesigned site sports a sleeker, more professional look along with expanded content. According to Doug Griswold, CEO of Llamawerx, “The site focuses on delivering information to the Society’s members in a simple and effective manner. Internet expectations are constantly rising and we wanted to create a site capable of supporting those expanding expectations,” continued Griswold. “A lot of the effort is behind-the-scenes and in the members-only portion of the web site.”

“When we began working with Llamawerx, we had an idea of how we wanted the site to look and feel, but we weren’t sure what steps needed to be taken in order to accomplish this daunting task,” said Rebecca Kelly, NJSOP’s Director of Public Relations. “Working with the Llamawerx team, we have been able to narrow the focus of the site from a loose collection of consumer and member content, to targeted member information.

“Like many professionals, our members need the ability to network with each other, be informed of important developments, as well as know about company-sponsored events,” continued Kelly. “The goal is to keep our members connected with our society, to each other, and to the optometric community, which we feel this site has greatly helped us to accomplish. Llamawerx was able to provide us with a strong foundation for our site, and we look forward to expanding it in the near future.”

“When we work with clients, we take into consideration their needs, their target audience, and their budget,” added Griswold. “Large companies or small businesses, we find unique solutions to tie it all together.”

JETSET JR. – READY FOR TAKEOFF

RALEIGH, NC – August 8, 2005 – Llamawerx proudly announces the launch of their new website, JetsetJr.com. JetsetJr.com is an online community dedicated to traveling with children. The site will enable people to exchange information about traveling with children.

“If you have ever tried to plan a trip with your kids there’s always some information you’re looking for but can’t find,” said Llamawerx’s Doug Griswold. “When my family traveled to Thailand last year with our 18 month old son we searched all over for what to take and how to do it. That was the first inspiration for JetsetJr. Now, we’ve built an online community where travelers can post your questions and let others help you out.”

Discussion boards, free links and a weblog are part of the package along with an online store. The online store recommends age-appropriate items for kids and their parents to make the trip more enjoyable and educational.

“Today’s children are bombarded with cheap toys having limited value. As a mother and traveler, I’m on the lookout for travel stuff that will be entertaining, educational and small,” said Judy Gerard. “We’ve tried to select items for JetsetJr that meet these requirements and are age-appropriate too.”
